Italian Health Minister Roberto Speranca said he had signed a decree banning people who had been in India for the past 14 days. Only Italians are allowed to enter, but they must undergo a Covid-19 test before arrival and be subject to a quarantine regime for some time.
New restrictions on entry from India, as well as Brazil and South Africa, have also been introduced in France. Canada, meanwhile, banned all passenger flights from India and Pakistan for 30 days last week. This is due to the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases among passengers on these flights. Meanwhile, experts allow the possibility that the decisions are related to the information published in the media about the spread of a new type of Covid-19 in India. It may be more contagious and more resistant to the body’s immune system than the usual coronavirus.
