As public dissatisfaction with the slow vaccination campaign grew, Ukrainian Health Minister Maxim Stepanov resigned on Tuesday.
Stepanov, who has held this position since the end of March last year, is the third health minister to resign since the pandemic began.
Currently, about two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine are available for Ukraine, which has a population of about 40 million.
In Ukraine, about 950,000 people received the first dose of Covid-19, of which about 28,000 received both doses.
Since March last year, more than 2.1 million people have been infected with the new coronavir in Ukraine, of whom about 50,000 have died.
Ukrainian Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikli and Minister of Economy Igor Petraško also resigned on Tuesday. Their resignation is linked to public outrage about the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
