Dubai Shopping Festival 2022: Live Performances, Musical Shows, Comedy, and More!

In its current 29th session, which continues until January 14, the Dubai Shopping Festival presents the most powerful and exclusive performances by an elite group of comedians, the best talented actors, and the most famous personalities around the world, as they present a group of live performances in an atmosphere filled with laughter, joy and amazement during the winter and holiday season in Dubai.

As the festival’s activities continue to attract more Dubai residents and visitors, many events await them in many of the city’s destinations, including comedy shows, music experiences, entertainment activities, and theatrical performances for the most wonderful moments and memories.

“Dubai Ringtones” evenings will return once again, offering a group of live musical performances to enjoy the most beautiful tunes and melodies, from January 5 to 14, with free musical performances hosted by 10 locations across the city, including Al Khawaneej Promenade, Al Seef, Box Park, Bluewaters Island, and Dubai Festival City. Comedy fans will have a unique experience at the festival, as British comedian Michael McIntyre, winner of the BAFTA Award, will present his live show at the Coca-Cola Arena entitled “MACNIFICENT” on Saturday, January 13, as part of an evening filled with doses of funny situations.

Omid Djalili, the multi-award-winning comedy star, will perform live on January 7, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where he balances humour, smart situations and sarcastic criticism.

City Walk hosts a music show across generations that attracts large numbers of visitors and takes them on a journey that highlights music from different decades.

The show will include pop songs entitled “Dazzling Performances, Bands, and Rhythms,” and visitors will enjoy the rhythms and movements of Justin Timberlake, Beyoncé, and Soulja Boy, as performed by a group of professional dancers. Visitors will also be enchanted by the sounds of the 2000s by Dani Aridi, Irene, Taylor, DJ Kiza, and The Ark, as music and performance combine in dazzling performances that take visitors back in their memories and make them feel nostalgic for the past.

City Center Mirdif welcomes its guests from January 4 to 21 at the Smurfs Village, where their fans are waiting for a very special surprise, which is the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the appearance of these little blue cartoon characters.

Papa Smurf, along with Smurfette, Thinking Smurf, Strong Smurf, Painter Smurf, Eating Smurf, Farmer Smurf, and Dr. Eddie Mintari, will present a theatrical family experience filled with joy and amazement. Visitors to the village will also enjoy an interactive and immersive experience in nine exceptional areas, including the Smurfs’ house, the muscle area, the beauty area, and others.

Among the dazzling performances hosted by Dubai Opera is a show recalling the most wonderful pieces and pieces of music from the album “Tubular Bells” by musician Mike Oldfield, which he released half a century ago, specifically in 1973, on Friday, January 12. This album achieved international fame, ranking first on the Billboard 200 list in the United States, Canada and Australia, and sold more than two million copies in the United Kingdom and 15 million copies worldwide. These tracks combine a range of experimental instruments and sounds, and were used for the opening theme music to the Oscar-winning horror film The Exorcist.

An evening will also be held that brings together international ballet dancers Ekaterina Krisanova and Ivan Vasiliev, stars of the Bolshoi Theater, during their live show at Dubai Opera, where they, accompanied by more than 60 musicians, will present the famous ballet show “The Pirate” on January 6 and 8, as the show coincides with the birthday of “The Pirate.” Yuri Grigorovich, ninety-seventh, is the leading choreographer of the Bolshoi Theater Ballet Company.

A concert performed by KPOP band members Chanyeol, Xiumin, and Chen will be held at the Coca-Cola Arena for one night, on January 14.

As for the closing ceremony of the Dubai Shopping Festival and celebrations with a group of Arab stars and live performances, an eye-catching digital show, the largest drone display since the start of the festival, fireworks, lighting models, and an air show from the Al-Fursan team, in addition to trying favorite local foods.

For lovers of singing, an evening for the most wonderful Arab stars, the Emirati artist Hussein Al Jasmi, the Egyptian artist Tamer Hosni, and the Emirati artist Balqis, to perform the most beautiful songs on stage, on January 13 at Skydive Dubai.
