As part of its pioneering efforts in the field of promoting healthy behaviors through exercise, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai organized the finals of the Fitness Championship for the sectors 2023 in the department’s gym, which ended with the victory of 3 teams out of 8 teams that participated in the final round of the tournament, with 3 members for each team. They compete with each other to win medals.
The tournament was launched last July 27 with the participation of 24 teams, each comprising three players representing the various management sectors, a total of 72 employees. It was included in the strategy to develop the sports sector in Dubai, which was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council for the period 2023-2033.
Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, confirmed that the championship comes out of the administration’s keenness to support the initiatives launched by the Emirate of Dubai regarding expanding the scope of sports, highlighting its importance and role in promoting public health and mental health of individuals.
He added: The public administration is keen to play an effective role that contributes to supporting the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, who confirms that striving for the first place is a goal that everyone aspires to reach in various fields, especially Sports.
The championship is also in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda, and contributes to enhancing Dubai’s readiness to lead the future, especially with regard to creating the future of sports, achieving sustainability, empowering community members, providing an attractive environment for talent, and creating a climate for increasing investment opportunities.
The tournament was witnessed by Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, Ali Abdullah bin Haider, Vice President of the Body Building and Fitness Federation, and Muhammad Abdul Rahim Al Marri, Secretary General of the Body Building and Fitness Federation.
