“It’s the first time we’ve done this from the car and we’ve had a very good number of visitors. How people work, sometimes they can’t stay but this way they’ve been able to get closer,” he said.

In addition to these days, to reduce the health risks due to the presence of rabies in stray animals, the health center staff carry out sweeps and request permission from the inhabitants of the neighborhoods to vaccinate animals that live outdoors.

The person in charge of the health center indicated that although they do not keep a record of the stray animals in the area, they have an approximation thanks to the sweeping work, because on one occasion, they vaccinated a total of 53 stray dogs in three hours during a tour by the Las Cuevitas neighborhood.

It should be noted that, in the event that it is difficult for citizens to travel to the health center, the staff offers two options: visit the home to vaccinate the animal in question or prepare the doses and train the owner to attend for the vaccine and administer it to your pet.

Maytorena Ochoa He pointed out that the work of the health center in this area of ​​public health extends, even, to the donation of vaccination material to veterinary offices in the city, for this reason, they ask the respective professionals for a receipt for each vaccinated animal.
