Dresden: First lost and found auction after the forced Corona break

First, second, and third: After a compulsory Corona break for more than a year, the city treasury in Dresden has auctioned lost property again.

Dresden – First, second, and third: After a compulsory Corona break for more than a year, the city treasury has again auctioned lost property. A total of 100 objects were in the plenary hall of the Dresdner Town hall to choose from – including bikes, teddy bears, puzzles, umbrellas, headphones – and even a toilet seat.

Around 4 p.m., the first interested parties arrived to inspect the colorful range on offer. One of them was Kim Houamed (24) from Dresden.

Together with daughter Vicky (7), she hoped to bid for a children’s bike for the lively first grader. “Unfortunately there are none. Perhaps we can find another bargain,” the retail saleswoman pondered before the start of the auction.

No sooner said than done: Houamed bought one of the popular bikes at auction – for only 25 euros. “I’m really happy. I couldn’t have got a bike cheaper anywhere.”

But that’s not all: “There was also a cuddly teddy bear for my little one (bid: 5 euros, editor’s note). Even a toilet seat for my sister (bid: 3 euros, editor’s note).”

For a total price of almost 2000 euros, all 100 items found a buyer. As the city announced, the next auction is expected to take place on September 14th.
