Floating swimming pool in the Main: The Offenbach FDP wants the magistrate to review an old idea again.
There are only a few opportunities to swim in the city of Offenbach. Now the FDP faction is asking the magistrate to have the possibility of a bathing ship anchored in the Main with a swimming pool checked again. “We know that there are traffic, construction law and financial hurdles, especially since the bathing ships are also located in large metropolises,” said FDP parliamentary group leader Dominik Schwagereit.
On the other hand, such a project in Frankfurt failed and Offenbach was a central part of the metropolitan region. Municipal bodies had already checked a bathing ship a long time ago. In the meantime there might be other concepts.
Schwagereit thinks that the floating swimming pool could possibly be realized with an investor. The port as a possible bathing ship location is located directly on the regional park route, support from regional park funds is also conceivable. It is also about the question of what grant needs such a project would have. aph
