Draymond Green sees LeBron James as more of a challenge than Boston

The Golden State Warriors are just one win away from winning their seventh championship in history. To do this, the team led by Steve Kerr will have to storm the TD Garden this Thursday. An opportunity that they will not want to miss: “We are going to close this in Boston,” said the coach after the Game 5.

For his part, Draymond Green wanted to heat up the atmosphere a little more prior to the sixth game. The power forward has admitted that the Celtics are a challenge but has placed the difficulty of this below that imposed by LeBron James in the four NBA Finals in which they have met previously.

“You can’t compare to mentally playing against LeBron James, who I think is possibly the smartest guy to ever play this game,” Green said, according to the media. The Athletic. “To say that [esto] It is comparable, it is disrespectful to LeBron and it would be lying to you.

Green noted that the Celtics provide problems because they emerge as a very physical and intense team but reiterated that they have still been able to beat them and take the lead in the playoffs. He singled out Ime Udoka and Marcus Smart for his mental toughness but once again praised James for his ability to read the games and respond to the needs they bring.

“It’s a skill that not many possess,” Green continued. “There aren’t a lot of people who can come in, go out there and give you the play you need during any random stretch of a game without missing a beat. There aren’t many people who can do that.”
