Brazil drew a tie against Colombia and helped Argentina on the fourth date of the South American Sub 20.
Brazil y Colombia encouraged a draw on the fourth date of the South American Sub 20. La Verdeamarela and the Cafeteros drew 1-1 on a new day in Group A and, consequently, gave the team a long-awaited break. Argentina directed by Javier Mascherano.
At Pascual Guerrero, the Colombians opened the score at 30′ thanks to a spectacular shot from outside the area by Gustavo Puerta. Later, at 44′, the Brazilians equalized with a header from Andrey Santos, who connected with the ball after a lethal free kick was taken.
With the result, Brazil reached seven points -the same as Paraguay has-, while Colombia remained in third position with five points. Argentina smiles from afar, now with only three points after beating Peru, which was left with a chance to advance to the final hexagonal.
The Albiceleste depends on itself to qualify for the next phase of the tournament that awards places to the 2023 World Cup. As it is already impossible to pass the Brazilians and Paraguayans, the Argentines aim to take third place from Colombia and to do so they need a victory against the Cafeteros on the last date.
The Group A closes this Friday on the fifth day of the South American Sub 20. While the clash between Colombia and Argentina is played, Brazil will end the group stage facing Paraguay, where both will define who will win first place in the group.
On the other hand, the Group B closes a day later. Simultaneously, Ecuador will collide with Uruguay and Chile will do the same with Venezuela. There are still the matches for this Thursday (date 4 still needs to be closed) and Saturday, and the Chilean team has a good footing to qualify for the next round.
