Colombo: Dramatic scenes during the Sri Lankan Premier League after a snake landed on the ground. An unexpected ‘guest’ arrived at the ground during the match between Gully Titans and Dambulla Ora on Monday. The snake reached the ground in the fifth over while Dambulla were chasing a target of 181 runs. Dhananjaya and Perera were at the crease.
A video of Gully’s Bangladesh player Shakib Al Hasan gesticulating to the umpires and players on seeing the snake, one of the match officials chasing the snake and the players laughing is circulating on social media. Then the match was stopped for a while. The match resumed after the snake left Grunt. Gully Titans won the match.

The Lankan Premier League, which started on July 30, will end on August 21. Apart from Sri Lankan players, prominent players like Babar Azam, Shakib Al Hasan and David Miller are playing in the league.
