A bathing accident occurred in the Rotsee in the city of Lucerne on Saturday. A man jumped upside down in the Rotsee. The water depth there is 1.1 meters. He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On Saturday, June 27, 2020, around 6 p.m., several people went for a swim at the Rotseewiese in the city of Lucerne in the Rotsee. A 22-year-old jumped from a stone footbridge.
Since the water depth at said location is only 1.1 meters, he was seriously injured. He was recovered by colleagues in an unconscious state and was looked after by the emergency services 144 and taken to the hospital.
The area of the Rotsee is a local recreation center, the bank areas are a nature reserve. Bathing is only allowed in the official bathing establishment.
The investigation is being conducted by the Lucerne Public Prosecutor’s Office.
