Dragon Leaps and Happiness Flyes: Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Hosts New Year’s Calligraphy Activity

[Reporter Dong Baiting/Taipei Report]To welcome the arrival of the Lunar New Year, the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall held the “Dragon Leaps and Happiness Flyes” New Year’s Calligraphy activity this morning. Calligraphers were invited to gather at the main corridor of the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall to write Spring Festival couplets for the public. The National Museum also Invite a dragon and lion dance troupe to perform to add to the festive atmosphere of the New Year.

This year’s New Year celebrations were kicked off by the Keelung Changxing Lu Master Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, and Lillian Dance Troupe was invited to perform. The writing ceremony was conducted by 14 calligraphers and distinguished guests, including Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Culture Wang Shisi, Director of the National Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall Wang Lansheng, Taipei City Vice Mayor Lin Yihua, Farglory Arena General Manager Li Baixi, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park Director Chen Yuxiu, Dan Lu Lian Shengyan, Chairman of the Cultural and Educational Foundation, Yang Xutang, President of the Calligraphy Court of the China General Academy of Culture and Art, Cai Mingzan, President of Calligraphy Education Monthly, Lin Liangyin, President of the Calligraphy Education Society of the Republic of China, Huang Zhiyang, President of the School of Art and Design of Huafan University, and Lai Junxian, Principal of Guangfu Elementary School , the winners of the calligraphy category of the Sun Yat-sen Youth Art Award, Ye Zonghe, Ye Xiuhong, Liu Yanchun and others jointly wrote the New Year’s couplet created by the famous calligrapher Lian Shengyan, “The world is full of joy and good fortune, Bo Haisheng sings of peace”.

Wang Shisi, Parliamentary Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture, said that the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall will be closed for construction this year and will return to Taipei City’s Cultural Egg Yolk District with a renovated appearance in the future. Wang Lansheng, director of the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Museum, said that the landscape renovation of the Sun Yat-Sen Cultural Park of the Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Museum has been officially completed, and the opening event is also the first time a dragon and lion dance performance has been held in front of the reflecting pool. In the future, the National Museum will continue to recognize itself as an important member of culture and art, and today the opening event will be held in the New Year.
