During the last months we have seen many acceleration races starring vehicles of all kinds, even strange couples that had nothing to do in terms of design and features, but the last video we’ve seen shows us something that we had never contemplated before. No, it is not an accident or anything like that, but rather the result of the first battle between a Ford Mustang and a Range Rover Sport SVR.
A tight end
The British SUV can boast of having a whole V8 from the most radical Jaguar F-Type, that is, a block of 5.0 liters supercharged that generates 575 horses, transmitted to all four wheels by an eight-speed automatic transmission by torque converter. The muscle car, on the other hand, it uses an engine of identical number of cylinders and with a displacement capacity compared to that of its rival, but with a much lower power since it delivers a total of 450 hp.
On paper, everything indicates that the advantage is for the SVR, but we must not forget that its weight exceeds 2,300 kilos. When moving these numbers on the track the thing is equalized, so much that we would never think that these two models have traveled the quarter mile establishing the same time and at the same speed. Technically speaking, the Mustang was a little faster with a difference of less than 1 km / h. Even so, it is very difficult to trace time with two similar vehicles, the more with a completely different partner.
Who will win?
However, this is not the end of the story since both will face each other in a Second race which promises to be as interesting and even as possible. Will the results be repeated? Will the Mustang be able to impose its lightness? Can the 575 hp of the SUV with the 450 hp of the muscle car? There is only one way to find out.
