“Dr. Taj El-Din Clarifies WHO Statement on New Threatening Epidemic”

Dr. Muhammad Awad Taj El-Din, Advisor to the President of the Republic for Health and Prevention Affairs, said that there is always a possibility of the existence of any epidemics, new viruses or epidemic diseases, pointing out that so far there are no manifestations that express the existence of a new epidemic.

Taj El-Din added, in televised statements, that the WHO statement regarding the spread of a new epidemic threatening the world comes within the primary tasks of the World Health Organization, which is to monitor any possibility of any epidemics or diseases that spread anywhere and may be transmitted to the world.

The President’s Health Adviser stressed that the aim of the World Health Organization’s statement about the existence of a new epidemic that may occur soon is to exercise caution and take the necessary preventive measures, referring to previous statements issued by the World Health Organization about the spread of epidemics.

And he continued that after monitoring any disease or virus anywhere in the world, the Director-General of the World Health Organization issues these warnings for precaution and prevention, pointing out that there are still no symptoms or indications of a new epidemic, indicating that the organization warns of epidemics from order to prevent it.

He continued, “We monitor, follow up, and monitor so that in the event of any virus or epidemic being detected, we have all means of preparation and prevention.”
