JAKARTA – Deputy Chairman of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan B Najamudin encourages the government to increase supervision and early detection of threats virus mysterious hepatitis. The Sultan reminded that the government should no longer underestimate any potential health threats originating from the virus. And the Ministry of Health should already have standard SOPs in responding to the phenomenon of the Hepatitis virus which is thought to have been infected by three pediatric patients who were treated at Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta.

“We want the Government to have a rapid (fast) response and be able to prepare effective mitigation measures. Because Indonesia is very vulnerable to various types of viruses that develop from abroad. Moreover, at this time we have not fully recovered from the Covid-19 pandemic,” he urged. .

In addition, the senator from Bengkulu appealed to the public to be vigilant but not to panic, especially for the elderly. Make sure children do not carelessly consume unhygienic food and always maintain a clean environment.

“If this virus will only target children, then this is a very decisive threat to the nation’s future. Don’t let us get caught again due to our negligence in addressing health issues,” the Sultan appealed.

It was previously reported that in the last 2 weeks until April 30, 2022, there were three children in DKI Jakarta who suffered from acute hepatitis whose cause of death was unknown.
