Dpcm draft, what is expected for the school: mask obligation, distance learning, extraordinary competition stop


The new Dpcm is coming, containing the measures aimed at limiting infections from Covid 19. A summary of those concerning the school and the extraordinary competition in progress. Please note that this is a draft, therefore subject to changes. The final text is expected on 4 November.

National measures and specific measures are envisaged for the regions with the highest risk, the aforementioned “orange and red areas”.

National measures

100% higher distance learning – “Second grade secondary schools adopt flexible forms in the organization of teaching activities […] so that 100 percent of the activities are carried out through the use of integrated digital teaching. Without prejudice to the possibility of carrying out activities in presence if the use of laboratories is required or it is necessary due to the disability situation of the subjects involved and in the case of specific learning disorders and other special educational needs, guaranteeing in any case the online connection with the students of the class who are in integrated digital teaching“.

First cycle education and childhood – The didactic and educational activity for the first cycle of education and for the educational services for children continues to take place in the presence.

Mask obligation – The mask will be mandatory at school for elementary and middle school children, even when they are sitting at the desk. Learn more

Travel education – “Educational trips, exchange or twinning initiatives, guided tours and educational outings, however named, scheduled by educational institutions of all levels and levels are suspended, without prejudice to the activities related to the paths for transversal skills and for the orientation, as well as internship activities […] to be carried out in cases where it is possible to guarantee compliance with the health and safety requirements in force“.

Collegial bodies – “The meetings of the collegial bodies of school and educational institutions of all levels can be held only remotely. The renewal of the collegial bodies of educational institutions takes place in a remote manner in compliance with the principles of secrecy and freedom in participating in elections.i”.

Areas characterized by a scenario of maximum severity and a high risk level

University

The Universities, after consulting the Regional University Committee of reference, prepare, on the basis of the trend of the epidemiological framework, plans for the organization of teaching and curricular activities in presence and at a distance according to the training needs taking into account the evolution of the territorial pandemic framework and the corresponding health security requirements.
