double shot in Paris for photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson

Original prints, some unpublished, publications and audiovisual recordings by the artist. For its first exhibition after reopening, and associated with the Henri Cartier-Bresson Foundation, the Musée Carnavalet – Histoire de Paris is offering, until October 31, “Henri Cartier-Bresson. Revoir Paris ”: photos of the famous photographer (1908-2004), co-founder in 1947 of the Magnum agency. A thematic angle: the capital, the city where he lived and which has so often inspired him, without having devoted a book to him.

In resonance, and from a very different perspective, the BNF presents, until August 22, under the title “Henri Cartier-Bresson. Le Grand Jeu ”, an innovative project on the photographer’s“ Master Collection ”, created in 1973. Sharing a common passion for photography, five guest curators – including the collector and businessman François Pinault, the director Wim Wenders and the photographer Annie Leibovitz – exchange and cross their gaze on “The Eye of the Century”. Here is an extract in pictures.
