FC Dornbirn suffered a deserved 2-1 defeat at the start of the 2nd Bundesliga against previous year’s champions BW Linz.
With the difficult away game against last year’s champions BW Linz, the new season in the second Bundesliga started for FC Dornbirn today. Neo-coach Orie gave relegation as a season goal before the first game. The debut on the sideline started very badly for the Dutchman – because Gölles already made it 1-0 in the 4th minute. The Linzers controlled the duel with the lead in the back more or less without any problems and always came up with good opportunities. Nevertheless, it was only with a narrow 0: 1 from the perspective of the Rothosen in the break.

Dornbirn hit came too late
The second half also began with a goal against: after a nice combination, Pirkl increased to 2-0 in the 52nd minute. After this goal, the game seemed decided for both teams, because chances weren’t there for a long time. Only in the final phase did Dornbirn come up with two good opportunities through Kasai and Nagler, both of which remained unused. The Rothosen showed good morale and a few seconds before the end with an Omerovic dream goal from 30 meters from a direct free kick, they did not score the one due to the final phase undeserved follow-up hit. But this hit didn’t change anything about the defeat.
