Doosan Robotics and Kyochon F&B Partner to Introduce Chicken Frying Robots in South Korean Restaurants

Doosan Robotics, a major robotic developer, and Kyochon F&B, a popular fried chicken franchise in South Korea, have signed an agreement to introduce chicken frying robots at Kyochon’s restaurants. The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) last Thursday, with the aim of automating Kyochon’s cooking processes and improving efficiency.

The agreement states that Doosan will provide the robots to Kyochon, and the first machine will be employed at Kyochon’s headquarters in Osan, within this month. The robots will then be promoted to other Kyochon restaurants and franchise owners will be encouraged to adopt the machines.

The chicken frying robots are designed to follow Kyochon’s cooking practice, which involves deep-frying the chicken twice to achieve a specific taste and quality. The robots have the ability to run six deep-frying baskets simultaneously, allowing them to cook up to 24 chickens per hour. The deep-frying arm of the robot is fixed on the machine’s top section, eliminating the need for restaurant operators to set it up and take it out every time they use the robot.

Doosan Robotics emphasizes that the robot’s ability to maintain uniform quality and taste for all chicken pieces will be a key benefit for Kyochon. Additionally, the robot has been certified with food safety by the U.S. National Sanitation Foundation.

This partnership between Doosan Robotics and Kyochon F&B is part of a larger trend in the food and beverage industry, where companies are turning to robotics to automate various aspects of food preparation and cooking. Doosan has previously signed deals with other food and beverage companies in South Korea to provide them with robotic solutions.
