When a child is hit by a fever, cough and runny nose, then parents need not worry too much, if the child is still in good condition. If the child is still in an agile condition and can still play, then that is not a worrying thing.
Here are some signs to keep in mind when your child is ill:
Fever
Loosen the clothes the child is wearing. Do not wear warm clothes to children. Wear comfortable and loose clothing on your child’s body.
For parents, provide paracetamol at home. Then give it to the child according to the dose and instructions for use in the packaging according to the child’s age.
Paracetamol is usually given 4 times a day. If after paracetamol is given the child’s temperature drops, and after a few hours warm again, then do not worry.
Coughs and colds
Usually this is caused by allergies to objects that are around the child. Avoid children from cold and sweet foods. Give more to drink warm water. Then, apply the ointment to the child’s back and chest.
Diarrhea
If the child defecates in a thin condition, it could be because the child’s stomach is shocked from tasting new food. In addition, diarrhea can also occur because the child’s hands are dirty when handling food.
Always provide ORS at home and give warm water to children. Always pay attention to the color of the liquid and the texture of the baby’s feces, if it exceeds 7 times a day then immediately take it to the doctor to prevent dehydration.
