In response to this, the Chair of the Covid-19 Task Force, the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB .) IDI), Zubairi Djoerban asked not to be lazy in comparing Indonesia with Singapore, which treats Covid-19 like the common cold.
“Don’t be lazy and compare us with Singapore, which will treat Covid-19 like a common cold,” said Zubairi through his personal social media, Monday (28/6/2021).
Zubairi also emphasized that Indonesia still has a lot of homework to do to deal with Covid-19. Among them is the Delta variant which is increasingly being detected in Indonesia. Then, the Covid-19 vaccination rate is also still low. In addition, testing has also been added to hospitals in a number of areas which are also over capacity.
“We still have a lot of homework to do: Variant Delta + vaccination rate is still low + testing is low + hospitals are full. Let’s focus on handling it in our own country,” said Zubairi.
It is known, Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, then Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong, and Minister of Health Ong Ye Kung emphasized the country’s priority in the next few months, namely to prepare Singapore to live with Covid-19 as a disease that will occur again and can be controlled.
