Don’t be careless, this is the BPOM guide on how to dispose of expired drugs that are good and right

TRIBUNNEWS.COM, JAKARTA – Having a supply of medicine at home is certainly good. However, drugs are often stored for a long time in the medicine box.

For this reason, it is better to pay attention to the stored medicines periodically.

If you find unused or expired medicines, throw them away immediately.

But remember that you have to be careful when disposing of drugs, not carelessly, let alone throwing them in the trash.

Here’s a guide to disposing of drugs expired good and true as stated by the POM RI:

Solid Medicines (Tablets, Capsules, Powders etc.)

1. Remove the medicine from the package.

2. Destroy the medicine first.

For capsules, remove the contents of the capsule from the shell and dissolve it with water. Break or cut the capsule shell, then throw it away with other household waste.
