It was at the end of Malmö FF’s match against IFK Värnamo on Thursday that the accident occurred for Adi Nalic. The midfielder ended up in a melee at the sideline and in an attempt not to fall out on the running tracks surrounding the pitch, he turned to his knee.

Nalic screamed in pain and lay down. After the match, the MFF coach Milos Milojevic was clear that it did not look good, but that the doctors had not been able to determine what kind of injury it was about on the spot.

It has now been determined. On Sunday morning, the club announces that Nalic has suffered a ligament injury in his knee that requires surgery, and which thus keeps him away from games for the rest of the season.

– At the end of the match against IFK Värnamo, Adi suffered a knee injury in connection with a run at the height of our replacement booth. In recent days, we have examined him and can now unfortunately establish that he has sustained a ligament injury in the knee that requires surgery. The operation will be carried out in the near future, after which a longer period of rehabilitation is expected. Adi will unfortunately miss the rest of this season, says MFF’s responsible physiotherapist Jesper Robertsson to the club’s website.

Nalic managed to make four appearances for Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan 2022.
