NEW YORK (Dagbladet): “Sometimes the president would come down in the morning and say, ‘Well, Sean thinks we should do this,’ or ‘Judge Jeanine thinks we should do that,'” Trump’s former spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told Washington Post.
Has “evaporated”
She referred to Sean Hannity and Jeanine Pirro, who lead two of the most popular programs on the right-wing channel Fox News.
Grisham left the White House after the deadly attack on Congress on January 6 last year, and has since published a very critical book about Trump.

Almost obsessed
She says that Trump’s White House staff often rolled their eyes in frustration when they had to deal with the influence Fox presenters had on the then president of the United States.
According to Grisham, Trump was almost obsessed with the broadcasts to Fox News and listened very much to the presenters’ advice in all areas from politics to employment to how messages should be conveyed.
Several have also previously said that Trump would like to spend many hours a day watching Fox News. He also had private telephone conversations with several of the presenters. In addition, he often called in to be interviewed live during the programs.
Recently, the House of Representatives committee, which is investigating the deadly attack on Congress, published text messages between Fox News executives and Trump’s chief of staff, Mark Meadows. The messages emphasize even more clearly how close this relationship was.
–
– Destroys everything
– Mark, the president must tell the people in Congress to go home. This hurts us all. He destroys his legacy, wrote Fox profile Laura Ingraham.
Ingraham’s colleague, Brian Kilmeade, also feared for the Trump legacy.
– Please get him on TV. This destroys everything you have achieved, he wrote to Meadows.
–
– I’m pushing to make it happen. I agree, Meadows replied.
– Can he make a statement? Ask people to leave the Congress building, Hannity wrote to Trump’s chief of staff.
In addition, the text messages, which have been published, show that Hannity also offered Trump advice in the days before and after January 6, 2021.
– I can NOT see that January 6 happens in the way he is told, Hannity wrote to Meadows about Trump December 31, 2020.
Daughter with desperate prayer
– Do not like
On January 10, 2021, Hannity had a direct conversation with Trump. He then texted Meadows and Trump ally Congressman Jim Jordan to discuss how they could restrain Trump.
– He can not mention the election again. Ever. I did not have a good conversation with him today. And even worse, I’m not sure what else can be said or done, and I do not like not knowing if it is actually understood. Ideas? writes Hannity.
Greeted by empty seats
Former White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah claims to the Washington Post that Lou Dobbs, Hannity, Ingraham and Pirro were the four most influential Fox staffers to Trump. The former president is also said to have listened to Fox profiles such as Mark Levin and Maria Bartiromo.
– The goal was to get ahead of the advice you expected him to get from these people. They could completely make him change his mind about things, says Farah.
Especially after the election defeat, Trump has complained loudly about the coverage of Fox News. Nevertheless, he should continue to maintain close contact with many of the presenters.
Asked for cooperation
Hannity has been asked to cooperate with the committee investigating the January 6 attack. So far, the Fox profile has hired Trump’s lawyer Jay Sekulow to represent him.
–
– We are evaluating the letter from the committee. We are still very concerned about the constitutional implications, especially in connection with the first constitutional amendment. We will respond appropriately, Sekulow said in a statement last week.
Trump’s role during the January 6 attack last year is at the center of the investigation. On Sunday, both Democrats and more moderate Republicans made it clear that Trump can not invoke any form of immunity from prosecution if it emerges that he actively coordinated the attack, writes The Guardian.
