Dominik Kahun out – SC Bern signs Canadian forward Tyler Ennis

After Kahun’s injury, SC Bern reacted quickly. They signed former NHL striker Tyler Ennis for the remainder of the season.

Tyler Ennis has been playing in the NHL since 2009 but so far this season he has been without a team. It is now clear that the 33-year-old will play in Switzerland for the second time in his career. During the 2012-13 lockout, Ennis wore the SCL Tigers jersey in nine games.

“Tyler is an extremely dynamic player with a lot of experience,” says SCB sporting director Andrew Ebbett. “We wanted to react immediately to the absence of Dominik Kahun and we are delighted to have found such a good solution in such a short time.” It is still unclear whether Ennis will make his debut against EHC Biel on Tuesday.

According to the SCB, Dominik Kahun is expected to be out for at least four to six weeks due to a shoulder injury. Whether he needs an operation will be decided later the day after an MRI.
