Dominik Hašek apologizes for participating in the NHL game

Dominik Hašek is a well-known critic of the participation of Russian athletes in all competitions, a position he has held since the beginning of the aggression in Ukraine.

“I don’t watch the NHL or tennis today, because I know that those competitions are supporting the war. Those competitions were responsible for many deaths. I only need to hear the NHL on the radio and I immediately see the dead soldiers or civilians there. For me, human life is clearly more than even the most beautiful game,” said Dominik Hašek, among others.

He posted on the social network on Tuesday morning X, where he commented on his participation in the NHL game. He repeated that he does not agree with the league’s position, which allows hockey players from Russia to start, and accepted the invitation from the club at the request of the fans.

“Given this, I consider my participation in the match and its opening to be my huge mistake. I hereby want to apologize to all Ukrainian soldiers and all Ukrainian people who heroically defend not only their homeland, but also the whole of Europe against the imperialist enemy. Furthermore, I apologize to the fans who supported me and continue to support me and to all those whom I disappointed with my actions. I find this personal failure of mine very difficult to excuse. I will try even harder to fix it. At this moment, I can promise you that a similar situation will not happen again,” said Dominik Hašek.

He promised that he will continue to fight to the maximum and defend everything that the terrorist regime attacks and criticize all those who support it with their actions. He also repeated his well-known phrase that even the most beautiful game in the world is no more than human life.

“In conclusion, I apologize once more to all the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their freedom, for us and my country, and I express my maximum support to them. Glory to Ukraine!” concluded the Czech hockey legend.
