Dominican Republic: Church donates medicines to the Ministry of Health

The Vicariate of the Social Pastoral of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo delivered a batch of azithromycin, a drug that according to some studies would help in the fight against the coronavirus, COVID19.

“Given the situation of lack of medications for the coronavirus pandemic, the Vicar for Social Ministry of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo, today delivered 20,000 bottles of Azithromycin to the Ministry of Public Health,” reported the Catholic newspaper of the Archdiocese of Santo Domingo. the 2nd of April.

The medicines, he points out, arrived at the Social Ministry on March 28 and will be very helpful in the current emergency.

To date, coronavirus cases in the Dominican Republic are 1,578, of which 77 have died.
