[시티타임스=한국일반] Thanks to the expansion of automobile exports, vehicle sales in the domestic finished car industry continued to perform well. However, compared to the first half, there was only a slight increase, leaving a disappointment.

According to the finished car industry on the 2nd, the global sales of five domestic companies (Hyundai Motors, Kia, GM Korea, KG Mobility, and Renault Korea) recorded 653,811 units in August. This is a 5.5% increase from 619,945 units in August last year.

Sales by company were counted in the order of △Hyundai Motors 347,377 units △Kia 255,481 units △GM Korea 31,716 units △KG Mobility 10,823 units △Renault Korea 8414 units.

The combined sales volume at home and abroad continued to increase, but the rate of increase decreased compared to the increase of more than 10% in the first half of this year.

In the domestic market, only Hyundai Motor and Kia sales increased, while GM Korea, KG Mobility, and Renault Korea all decreased. Domestic sales of the five companies last month were 106,482 units, a slight increase of 1.5% from 104,927 units in August last year. Domestic sales performance by company is △Hyundai Motors 55,555 units △Kia 42,225 units △GM Korea 3297 units △KG Mobility 3903 units △Renault Korea 1502 units.

Hyundai Motor and Kia’s domestic sales increased by 12.9% and 2.4%, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Renault Korea (-62%) and KG Mobility (-43.6%) decreased significantly, and GM Korea also decreased by 8.2%.

Overseas, except for Renault Korea, all other companies continued to increase.

By company △Hyundai Motors 291,822 units (1.5% compared to the previous year) △Kia 212,882 units (5.8%) △GM Korea 28,419 units (94.4%) △KG Mobility 6920 units (85.9%) △Renault Korea 6912 units ( -9.9%).

The three mid-sized companies believed that the economic downturn had a big impact on the sluggish domestic demand.

Renault Korea plans to rebound in sales by lowering related prices and sluggish sales. KG Mobility plans to boost domestic performance with new models such as the Torres EVX in the second half. GM Korea predicted that sales would recover from next month, citing the temporary slump caused by facility inspections at the Bupyeong plant.
