Dolphin Deaths in the Black Sea: Russian Orcas Responsible for Mass Demise

Many dolphins continue to die in the Black Sea due to the malicious activities of Russian orcas. This was stated by Prof. Ivan Rusev, head of the Research Department in the Ukrainian Tuzlovsky Limani National Park.

Russian barbarians have been destroying our land for 768 days of (full-scale) war. They do not know how to value nature, culture and free people, the doctor of biological sciences pointed out.

In March 2024 alone, several dozen dolphins have already died in the bays of Sevastopol and other coasts of the occupied Crimea, near Novorossiysk and the coast of the Krasnodar Territory. Ivan Rusev pointed out that Russia is responsible for the deaths of at least 50,000 dolphins since the start of the war.

He stated that many dead dolphins float not only on the Ukrainian coast, but also on the Bulgarian coast. Marine mammals are dying because of the activities of the orcas that occupied the waters of the Black Sea, the professor pointed out, referring to the Russian occupiers.

The activity of Russian submarines and ships is a major factor in the continued death of rare Black Sea mammals. Sonar damage is a major cause of their death. Russians are responsible for the death of many other animals as well as plants. “I will continue to fight for the nature of Ukraine until the victorious end,” said Prof. Ivan Rusev.
