In the face of rising food prices, France should take an example from Argentina, which bans meat exports in order to depress domestic prices, L’Humanité urges:
“Since it is becoming more and more difficult for French cattle breeders to make a living from their profession, especially due to the free trade agreements that the EU Commission is constantly negotiating with third countries, food sovereignty must be defended in a country like France, as is currently happening in Argentina. This presupposes that the farmers who produce our food are given adequate pay. However, we know that social, tax and environmental dumping takes place permanently, also within the European Union. “
