Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that the situation in the northern regions of Moldova, where, after flooding in Ukraine, overflowed the banks of the Prut and Dniester rivers, has stabilized.
“Due to the heavy rains that took place in the north of the country and neighboring Ukraine, there were flood risks on the Dniester and Prut rivers. At this stage, the situation has stabilized, but the authorities are on the pulse, ”TASS quoted Dodon as saying.
At the same time, he noted that the situation showed that in the past 12 years there have been no serious investments for the restoration of dams, dams and other protective structures.
According to Dodon, money will be allocated from the budget for the restoration of structures.
Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, who flew into the flood-damaged Ivano-Frankivsk region, said that struck by the scale of the rampage. On June 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that the agency appealed to NATO and the European Union asking for help with floods in the west of the country.
