Doctors Value Injecting Vitamin C in Lips Like Amanda Manopo Danger

JAKARTA Amanda Manopo confess inject vitamin C in the lips after changing the shape of his lips into the spotlight of netizens. However, this practice was considered dangerous by aesthetic and antiaging doctor dr Cynthia Jayanto, M.Biomed (AAM).

According to Dr. Cynthia, injections are not allowed vitamin C on the lips directly. “It is not permissible to inject vitamin C directly into the lips, it is dangerous,” said Dr. Cynthia to MNC Portal Indonesia via short message, Wednesday (5/5).

Injecting vitamin C into the lips, explained Dr. Cynthia, that the content of vitamin C is 1000 mg of ascorbic acid, which this active ingredient is not suitable for lips. Furthermore, vitamin C contains ascorbic acid which is acidic in nature.

“The acidic nature can cause scar tissue or scar tissue on the lips. This is dangerous,” explained Dr. Cynthia.

Furthermore, Dr. Cynthia revealed that the lip area contains many blood vessels. By injecting vitamin C into the lips, there is a risk of swelling or even bluish bruising.

“If that’s the case, vitamin C, which is expected to overcome chapped lips will actually kill the network of blood vessels in the lips,” said Dr. Cynthia.

Therefore, Dr. Cynthia advised those who experience chapped lips not to inject vitamin C directly into their lips. Instead, you can use a lip balm that contains vitamin C.

“So, you should treat chapped lips with a product in topical form with a percentage concentration that is adjusted to the lips and if it is topically mixed with other moisturizing ingredients. The use of lip masks, lip balms, and vaseline jelly can also help,” he said.
