Amid applause, doctor Yamil Assali was fired, who died this week in Barinas from coronavirus.
His death had been denounced by the deputy to the National Assembly Sandra Flores Garzón, who published on her networks a video of the moment when Assali was applauded by her colleagues at the Luis Razetti Hospital in Barinas.
“First doctor in Barinas who dies of covid-19. A hero who did not have biosecurity equipment, but who insisted on saving the lives of patients with coronavirus. Peace to his soul, ”said the legislator.

There has been opacity on the part of the authorities about the deaths of doctors with the virus. The data that have been published have been thanks to independent NGOs or health workers who make the information they handle known.
According to the United Doctors of Venezuela, the number of doctors who died from the disease is 58.
The day he announced Assali’s death, Flores Garzón warned of the situation in which they work in the health sector: “Without protective equipment, health personnel are at risk of contagion and danger of death.”
