PADUA. Doctor Antonio Olmeda, a well-known Orthopedist who has retired for some years, following illness, passed away. He would have turned 70 on June 30th.

For many years he worked at the University Hospital of Padua with complex interventions of major traumatology and oncological surgery even on severe polytrauma patients.

His lifelong colleagues doctors Basso, Fama, Gigante, Pedini and the younger Bassi, Borgo, Vigo, Rodà and Zanarella regret him as a colleague, teacher, friend in recognizing him extraordinary qualities of humanity and professionalism.

In remembering him we cannot ignore the long years of painful illness in which he has always continued to carry out his work with passion and great courage, giving us all a great example of dedication and composed dignity.

Much appreciated for his moral rigor and for his sense of proud belonging to the Public Service, he leaves a great void and pains us enormously his loss. Olmeda, a good man, meek, humble and above all attentive to the needs of others, an exceptional person, a clinician of enormous professional stature, was a tireless worker.

The dr. Daniele Donato general director on behalf of the management of the Hospital of Padua, the Doctors, health workers, profs. Ruggieri and Berizzi, those who knew him and those who come to know him today through the greetings of their colleagues, join together in a unanimous chorus in his memory.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the family, we cannot help but think of it in Heaven and we would like to take it as an example of life”.
