Kristaps Amsils, Chairman of the Board of “Dobeles dzirnavnieks”, has managed to increase the turnover due to the increase in processed grain and production volume. The company’s profit has reached 4.2 million euros. More than seven million euros have been paid in taxes.

In 2019, the company processed 285 thousand tons of grain, which is 30 thousand tons more than a year earlier. “We plan to increase the amount of processed grain this year as well, reaching 300 thousand tons,” says Amsils.

In 2019, 11.9 million euros were invested in the development of the company. “Every year we increase both production and grain storage capacities, we constantly invest in the improvement and efficiency of the company’s infrastructure and production technological processes,” explains Amsils.

In 2019, “Dobeles dzirnavnieks” cooperated with 870 grain suppliers, of which more than 90% were local farmers. The 19 new bio-grain silos built in 2019 have allowed the company to increase the total grain storage capacity to 260 thousand tons.

In 2019, a new export record of the company was also achieved – compared to 2018, the export turnover of “Dobeles dzirnavnieks” has increased by 18%, exceeding 78 million euros. “Over the next three years, we plan to increase export volumes by at least another 35%,” says Amsils. “Completion of investment projects at the end of this year will ensure a significant increase in volume.”

In 2019, “Dobeles dzirnavnieks” started the implementation of two large-scale development projects, envisaging their total investment in the amount of 30 million euros. Amsils says that in the coming years he plans to become the largest organic grain full cycle processing company in the Baltics. Currently, the 2nd round of construction of the full-cycle pre-processing and processing infrastructure of organic grain is underway. It is planned that the new bio-flake plant will start operating by the end of this year.

Last year, “Dobeles dzirnavnieks” processed 40% more organically grown grain than a year earlier – this confirms that the production of organically grown products is a rapidly growing niche in the world and in many places not yet covered.

At the same time, “Dobeles dzirnavnieks” is working on an investment project that will allow the company to strengthen its position as the largest pasta producer in Northern Europe. “At the end of this year, we also plan to open a new, innovative pasta production line, which will provide an opportunity to add new types of pasta to the product range, increasing the company’s productivity and competitiveness in foreign markets. Total project investment will exceed 11 million euros planned to export, “says Amsils.
