KOMPAS.TV – Hajar Aswad is a special stone and is often referred to as black stone.
This stone is located in the Kaaba.
It is well known, by most Muslims, especially pilgrims, because the Hajar Aswad has historical value which is quite important in the development of Islamic teachings.
Quoting from Islamic Landmarks The stone of Hajar Aswad was brought from Jannah or heaven and was dedicated to Prophet Ibrahim by placing it in the corner of the Kaaba.
In a hadith narrated by Tirmidhi (quoted from the article Kompas.TV published on May 5, 2021), at first the Black Stone was white, but as time went on, it changed color to black.
This happened because of the sins of humans who touched the stone.
The Muslim Vibe also said that the stone of the Black Stone is also referred to as the heart of the Kaaba, because when Muslims perform Hajj, they must be circling the Kaaba.
The stone found in the corner of the southeast side of the Kaaba, will usually be touched and kissed or simply waved as a sign of respect.
