Reporting from the Medical Daily, Friday (9/4/2020), researchers from the Florida Atlantic University College of Engineering and Computer Science, conducted an experiment to see how droplets work when a person sneezes or coughs while wearing a face shield without face mask.
Apparently, the use of a face shield or face shield is not effective for protecting the face.

The face shield stops the splash of droplets after sneezing or coughing and the droplets then move across the shield and spread to the sides and bottom, entering the surrounding environment.
While face mask, can only filter out the respiratory droplets when inhaling. The open space around the face shield allows the flow of air that may be contaminated under the shield but can still be inhaled.
The researchers also observed face mask a valve that the manufacturer thinks is more comfortable to breathe and just as safe as face mask normal. This is not the same as face mask official N-95, specially designed for optimal safety.

“Our observations show that to minimize the spread of Covid-19 in the community, it may be better to use high-quality cloth or face mask surgery that has a plain design, rather than a face shield and face mask which is equipped with an exhalation valve, “said one researcher.
