Maha Al-Jaafari, Professor of Public Health at Ain Shams Medicine, denied the reports about the impact of dust storms on the Corona virus or the increase in the incidence of the epidemic, noting that high temperatures reduce the spread of the virus, and there is no medical study confirming its susceptibility to rain or storms.
The professor of public health added, during her statements to Sada Al-Balad, that the most vulnerable to infection with the virus are those with chronic diseases (diabetes, stress, etc.), and also smokers and children are the least vulnerable to the virus.
In the same context, Dr. Khaled Abu Shanab, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Ain Shams University, Professor of Immunology, confirmed that the infection occurs when the hand comes into contact with a surface on which the virus is likely to be present, as the virus can be transmitted to the body in this way, not kissing, close contact, staying away from crowded places and avoiding shaking hands with individuals and avoiding Touching the nose and eyes, and not kissing, stressing not to approach those with a cough, sneeze or fever, as they can spread small particles containing the virus in the air and it is preferable to stay away from them for a distance of one meter, indicating that all of this helps in the lack of exposure to infection.
Dr. Khaled indicated that the mid-year vacation was a reason for the decrease in the number of people infected with the Coronavirus, and this reflects the extent of the Egyptian state’s keenness to limit the spread of the Corona virus, noting that with the increase in temperatures, the numbers will gradually decrease.
