DKI Provincial Government Plans to Put Masks on the Statue of General Sudirman

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta plans to install face mask in the statue General Sudirman which is located on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta.

The head of the Jakarta Provincial Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Satriadi Gunawan, confirmed the plan to install the masks.

“We still have a meeting at KDH (DKI Jakarta Regional Head Bureau), at 15.00, later he will decide there, maybe or not. There is a plan,” said Satriadi when contacted, Wednesday (19/8/2020).

However, Satriadi could not explain further regarding the purpose of wearing the masks.

He also could not confirm whether DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan would be directly involved in installing masks on the statue of General Sudirman.

“We don’t know yet. It’s still tentative (whether Anies will put a mask on the statue of General Sudirman),” he said.

According to Satriadi, his party was only in charge of preparing masks.

“In principle, the fire department only helps the installation process. Later we will use the ladder unit, that’s (technical implementation) from the Culture and Tourism Office (Disparekraf),” said Satriadi.
