District of Lörrach: August 11th: Federal highway 34 between Rheinfelden and Schwörstadt free again after a tree fall – five more trees near the road are felled for safety reasons

After a tree fell on the B34 near the construction site between Rheinfelden and Schwörstadt, the B34 will remain closed all day today, Wednesday (10 August).
The road will reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. on Thursday.

After a tree fell on the B34 in the area of the construction site, the surrounding trees on the road section were checked by forest management employees for safety reasons. Five other trees were found that are potentially in danger of falling over. The main reason for this is the drought. A contracted company will fell the trees in the course of the afternoon. During the inspection, other trees were also identified on the slope, which are to be removed for safety reasons on Saturday, when the road will be closed anyway due to the construction site.
