Donald Trump (74) announced good news on Friday in the rose garden of the White House: The US government wants to give around 20 million people the corona vaccine as early as December. But according to the US President, New York shouldn’t get a chance!
–
There is a dispute between Trump and the Democratic governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo (62). He has been critical of the vaccine process in the past and warned that Trump would use it for political purposes. Therefore, the corona vaccine will not initially be delivered to New York State, Trump said on Friday.

The Democratic Governor Andrew Cuomo does not trust the government in Washington and wants to examine the drug separately. “So we won’t deliver it to New York until we have approval,” said Trump.

Cuomo responds immediately
The incumbent US President indirectly criticized Cuomo for his announcement a few weeks ago that an approved vaccine would be checked for safety by its own experts.
–
Cuomo spoke to CNN only a short time later and assured that a vaccine would not be approved in New York later than in the rest of the country: “There will be no delay.”

Trump administration threatens lawsuit from New York
According to Cuomo’s account, the drug should be delivered to New York as well as to other states. The investigation by the New York expert panel is taking place at the same time. New York attorney general Letitia James threatened to sue the federal government if the state does not receive vaccine doses for the time being.

Most recently, the companies Biontech and Pfizer announced that their vaccine offered more than 90 percent protection against the Covid-19 disease. They want to provide 50 million vaccine doses this year and around 1.3 billion in 2021 – worldwide. The vaccine must be given twice to be effective. (SDA / nim)
