Disneyland Preps for Reopening: Plexiglass Installed at Park

As Disneyland Park still does not have a timeline announced to the public about its reopening, they are still hard at work implementing health and safety measures as they await more guidelines from state officials for reopening theme parks in California. On a visit to Downtown Disney, it can be seen that they are installing physical distancing measures at the entrance to Disneyland Park. It was shown previously that this was happening at Disney California Adventure, and now similar measures are beginning at Disneyland.

Cast Members were spotted today working at the turnstiles, and it looks like they were installing plexiglass at the entrance of Disneyland Park. Social distancing markers can be seen outside of the entrance so that Guests do not crowd from one party to another while waiting for their turn in line.

The turnstiles are not 6ft apart from one another so these measures help protect both Cast Members and Guests when passing through the entrance, as the Cast Member and Guests are in close proximity to each other. Some other spots you will possibly expect plexiglass within the parks are the queue lines of Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and getting onto the ride vehicles at “it’s a small world” and Space Mountain.

Many Cast Members are still awaiting their recall back to work, but construction workers are back on some of their projects. There is scaffolding up around the Town Hall building so it’s looking like it’s getting some maintenance and/or a refresh. When Disneyland Park started its prolonged closure back in March, some attractions were already on the schedule for being closed for refurbishment. Those attractions included King Arthur’s Carousel, Snow White’s Scary Adventure, and Haunted Mansion.

What Will Disneyland Look Like When It Reopens?

As we all await the news of Disneyland’s reopening date, there are questions of if some of these refurbishment projects will be finished when it does reopen. Along with that, there are speculations as to what it will look like including for Annual Passholders and one Annual Passholder even started a petition for an Annual Pass Extension Alternative. As the time that Disneyland Park remains closed continues to increase, ideas have also sprouted as to what new measures should be implemented permanently.
