Initially launched on March 24 in France, the Disney + streaming platform has decided to change its plans at the request of the French government.

While it had to launch its streaming platform in France, as in five other European countries, on March 24, Disney finally decides to postpone the upload to April 7, at the request of the French government. The information was announced via a tweet on the official Disney + account:
It must be said that, until now, Disney had resisted the requests of the government which feared, like the telecom operators, a record congestion on the network following the period of confinement – and teleworking for many – linked to the pandemic of the Covid- 19.
Questioned by our colleagues from Le Monde on March 19, Kevin Mayer, President of Disney, responsible for international and consumer strategy, said that no change in the planning was possible: “We have received messages on social media asking us to advance the launch date. Unfortunately, it was not possible.“
After India, where the launch has been suspended, France is the 2nd country to postpone the uploading of the streaming platform.
