Discussion about ambitious project | Rabenau

Rabenau (vh). The air in Londorfer Lumdatalhalle was far from out. With unbridled joy in the political discourse, the Rabenau municipal parliament completed its last session of the old electoral period just two days before the Hessian local elections on Friday evening. Recently in Staufenberg, parliament needed nine minutes to pass the 2021 budget.

The 20 representatives of the Rabenau parliamentary group, however, had a heated discussion for almost two and a half hours.

Even one of the “old gentlemen”, Walter Scheerer, community chairman from Rüddingshausen, had found his way to the Lumdatal on the evening of his 81st birthday. He regretted not being able to spend due to Corona.

Question of energy

The “Brodbachstrasse” development plan was long-winded. An investor has bought the area around the old sawmill in Londorf in order to market a small residential area there. Although the community representatives unanimously released the draft plan for disclosure with four abstentions, the ambitious project is far from being dry.

In this respect, it seems a no brainer to relocate the found sand lizard population to a suitable location. Uwe Höres (SPD) suggested the OHGV’s hiking house for this. The design of the former fire extinguishing pond in the immediate vicinity of Brodbachstrasse will be much more challenging. Höres: “In the building committee we had decided, the investor will do that”. Mayor Florian Langecker: “One should specify what is to be done”. Gottfried Schneider (FW): »The deletion is secured. We don’t need a pond for that ”.

Finally, the decision was supplemented by the note that the investor took responsibility for the pond area including the redesign. Listen: “So that the community doesn’t get stuck on the costs of care.” Langecker pointed out that the investor had “no leeway for extra sausages” because the demolition of the sawmill, the disposal of rubble and contaminated sites, which, by the way, were clearly mapped, would definitely “devour a fortune”.

The investor – the Wagner brothers from the architecture and engineering office of the same name in Solms / Lahn – was specially invited to be questioned by parliament. Sergei Wagner said they wanted to offer those willing to build fair property prices. In order to remain economically viable, the development costs should not explode. He therefore rejected the topic of the »combined heat and power unit« (CHP), which had been considered by the finance committee. District heating (in this case probably local heating) causes excessive installation costs. Alternatively, he suggested installing energy-efficient air source heat pumps.

Karl-Heinz Till (Greens) did not want the CHP to be bent and broken, but future-oriented energy that “makes ecological sense”. Heinrich Nachtigall (CDU) was of the opinion that the development plan should implement valid regulations, but “everyone should choose the form of energy themselves.” Those who want to heat as an alternative might get better loans for it. Egon Kellermann (CDU) reprimanded another tampering by the investor. “Building according to the regulations is the main thing.” Bernd Schladitz (SPD) said: »It can be a little more«.
