Discover the Best Food and Drink Spots in Marseille

Cécile Food Club Malmousque

Ideally located in the Malmousque district, this new deli is the perfect spot to come and buy good things to eat on the go on the terrace or to take away for a picnic by the sea. Cécile’s well-thought-out decor is signed by interior designer Marion Mailaender. In his counter: a bagnat bread (the best in Marseille according to the designer), a very naughty pull pork sandwich and a host of very tempting options such as roasted vegetables. The right address to know!

Poissonnerie Kennedy

In the Malmousque district, a few numbers from the Cécile Food Club, the Kennedy fish shop does not have a single free place this afternoon. This address, furnished with mismatched outdoor furniture, reveals itself in a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The menu is made up according to the arrivals of fish, shellfish and crustaceans. A hit at home, the JFK platter is made up of a fine selection of fresh seafood (oysters, prawns, whelks, homemade taramasalata, etc.), the perfect option to share for two at lunch. Hidden upstairs, the Onassis restaurant is only open for dinner. This second confidential address offers a five-stop trip (to an island in Thailand, Los Angeles, Istanbul, etc.) More refined recipes, concocted by chef Joffrey Bohaër.

Triplet

The first Tripletta restaurant in Marseille opened on a very pleasant square. After Paris, Bordeaux and Toulouse, this new address sees things big. Equipped with a spacious terrace, the trattoria unfolds in the heart of a vast space, surmounted by a floor which will soon be able to be privatized. Far from the traditional Italian restaurant, this Tripletta displays a decor punctuated with vintage furniture and works selected by the founders Dina Ba and Sébastien Jaudeau. On the menu: the classics of Tripletta, as well as the local specialty, half and half (a bi-flavor pizza, half cheese and half anchovies).

25 Pl. Notre Dame du Mont, 13006 Marseille

Sarment

Davin Irakoze, owner of the very good Deep coffee shop and the Apotek cocktail bar, opened this charming natural wine bar in the Préfecture district. This summer, it’s Bertrand Derain (ex-chef of Martin – Boire et Manger in Paris) who officiates in the kitchen and concocts a series of high-end small plates to share. A good spot for an evening with friends.

The rooms of La Relève

SuccessionTo Endome, it’s a bar with a terrace that has existed since the 1940s, but also a restaurant that has become an institution. You can now sleep there in one of the four bedrooms fitted out just above in a tropical, rococo, Provençal or Mediterranean style. Outdated atmosphere to perfection. To have your breakfast, head to the bar on the ground floor, of course.

Tuba’s new suites

The architect-designer Marion Mailaender made from a shed Marseilles from Les Goudes a mini-hôtel modernist influence, mixed with vernacular architecture. Rendered with lime, the walls serve as a frame for furniture and vintage decorative elements that she has carefully picked up (ceramics from Vallauris, kitsch lamps, portrait of Jean-Pierre Papin, etc.). A good dose of imagination, upcycling, common sense and a lot of the second degree… the Mailaender imprint is there. The rooms, which look like boat cabins, are clad in tinted marine plywood, and provide masks and snorkels for guests wishing to explore the depths of the sea. A little voluntary sporty side, but with Tuba sauce, in a very relaxed way. For this new season, the establishment has expanded. Make way for three new suites, still with Marion Mailaender at the controls of the decoration, and an unobstructed view of the big blue… enough to guarantee the sailor’s rest in a setting in harmony with nature.

Tuba Club, 2 Boulevard Alexandre Delabre, Marseille

big

Located at the foot of the cathedral of La Major and close to Forest, the Andia restaurant is the second opening of Moma Group in Marseille. It is the decorator Alexis Mabille who signs the joyful and colorful decor of this address designed like an urban jungle. On the menu: South American recipes designed around sharing, such as tacos, ceviches… The right address for travelling.
