National Board for Disaster Management (BNPB) stated that the implementation of the Restrictions on Community Activities (PPKM) is a form of government protection for the community from the threat of the spread of the Corona virus.
“PPKM is our strategy to control. It’s a way of protecting, such as health care discipline, wearing masks, maintaining distance, and controlling mobility,” said Ganip in Malang, Saturday (31/7) quoted from Between.
Ganip explained, one of the main concepts in implementing PPKM is to limit, or reduce community mobility, to minimize the risk of spreading the Corona virus.
According to him, in addition to implementing the PPKM period, one of the main keys that must be done to minimize the risk of being exposed to the Corona virus is to strictly follow health protocols.
“Live with discipline. So don’t ask PPKM to be extended or not, it’s part of controlling the rate of transmission so it doesn’t get wider, so we can break the Covid-19 chain,” he said.
According to him, if the implementation of PPKM goes well, and the community obeys all the rules during the restriction period, it is hoped that it will be able to reduce the spread of Covid in Indonesia.
“So don’t be allergic to PPKM. Because, if upstream is controlled, the spread of the virus, I’m sure can be controlled,” he said.
Ganip added, in addition, the government is also trying to provide protection to the community by implementing vaccinations. It is hoped that with the vaccination for the community, it can create group immunity from the Corona virus.
“We also protect it by being vaccinated. The risk of death is small when exposed to Covid-19. It is not non-existent (risk of death), but small,” he added.
