Discarded case of coronavirus at the General Hospital of Mexico

This Tuesday José Luis Alomía, General Director of Epidemiology, and Gustavo Reyes Terán, new head of the Coordinating Commission of National Institutes of Health and High Specialty Hospitals, in his report on coronavirus in Mexico, made known about a possible suspect case in the General Hospital of Mexico.

They indicated that it is a 44-year-old woman who was in Italy and arrived in Mexico on February 27, and presented mild symptoms.

However, minutes later, during the press conference, confirmation of negative result of the patient, who at the time remained in the hospital isolated.

Confirmed cases

The Director General of Epidemiology, José Luis Alomía, reported that so far they remain five confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country, of which two are asymptomatic and the remaining three have mild symptoms.

He also said that patients are not hospitalized, however, they are given all indications of isolation at home.

At the press conference it was stated that 75 cases have been ruled out and the results of 39 suspects are expected. COVID-19.

To date, only four states have confirmed cases of coronaviruses, these are Chiapas, Coahuila, Sinaloa and Mexico City; and 28 entities have reported at least one suspected case.

States may diagnose COVID-19

The health authorities indicated that 29 states passed the quality controls of the Institute of Epidemiological Diagnosis and Reference, so they can already make diagnoses of COVID-19, and thus confirm or rule out cases.
