Disastrous results in the autumn session of the Baccalaureate. Seven out of 10 candidates failed, more than last year. For the first time, the correction was done digitally, but this did not bring luck to those hoping for a passing grade.

Almost 30,000 candidates took the autumn baccalaureate. Most will give it next year as well, if they don’t get a passing grade now, on appeal. Some have experience in the field.
Candidate: I came with my girlfriend to file an appeal and now God help it to be okay. Emotions for her, not for me.
Reporter: How many times did you give?
Candidate: Two. In autumn I gave the second session, like her.

Florin Lixandru, MEN State Secretary: This year we are really registering a decrease, we will see what were the causes that led to this decrease, first of all is the way they prepared for this exam.
For the first time, this session was digitized. The papers were evaluated online by two teachers from counties other than the candidate’s. Some believe that this caused him to get lower grades.
Candidate: In math and geography it doesn’t really matter, but in Romanian three points matter a lot. Take it, that’s what matters, 30 hundredths is enough.
Florin Lixandru, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture: If there were differences of more than one point between the two evaluators, the works were distributed to two other evaluators, and the final grade was established by extracting the middle grades and in favor of average.

However, there were also students who prepared all summer for the baccalaureate.
Andreea Milea, Observer reporter: 9.73 is the highest average obtained at the Autumn Baccalaureate by a student from Colegiul Sfântul Sava, in the second session of the Baccalaureate. Immediately after, with an average of 9.61 is a student from Ilfov.
The final results, after appeals, will be displayed on Tuesday, August 29.
