Disappointment and rejection for Remkes: ‘Unfortunately, we cannot accept request’ | Inland

That sounds like a helping hand, but LTO first wants to make sure that there are no more taboos for the cabinet either. For example, the government previously refused to talk about the measures proposed by Minister Van der Wal and about the year 2030 by which the most nitrogen gains must be achieved. That’s five years earlier than the law says.

According to LTO, discussions only make sense if the timeline, goals and resources – such as innovation instead of purchase – can now be discussed. “Our counter-question to Mr Remkes is whether there are no more taboos for the cabinet,” a spokesperson said.

Agractie, another agricultural organization, repeats that it has difficulty with Remkes’ independence. After all, as chairman of previous committees, de Groninger paved the way for the current strict measures, including the threat of expropriation.
