Janaki Jaane director Anish Upasana’s Facebook post pleading that smaller films should be given a place to screen while the Judd Anthony-directed film 2018 continues to fill theaters. Anish shared the post on his Facebook page writing an open letter to Anto Joseph, Jude Antony, Venu Kunnapally and the theater owners.

The post also mentioned the release of Janaki Jaane directed by Anish Upasana, Neymar directed by Sudhi Maddison and Anuragam directed by Shahad. Anish Upasana says that due to the importance given to the film by the theater owners with its release in 2018, the show time of Janaki Jaane is being changed in many places and more than one show is being given at times like 1.30 pm on weekdays. He says that these methods of theater people are very disturbing. Anish affirms that the theaters woke up because of the arrival of 2018, ‘2018 will run whether it is at half past noon, 5.30 am or 12 noon, but if small family films like Janaki Jaane are to fill the theatres, first show and second show are needed, please cooperate.

Anish Upasana also says that ‘2018 is not to change the film but we should also get a place to screen the film. We are writing this open letter only because it is not possible after knocking on many doors’. The post also says that we are mentally tired when the show time is made as it seems, this is something that can only be done by you who have taken Malayalam cinema to the heights. Janaki Jaane is also a movie, 2018 is also a movie, everything is one, Malayalam cinema, Malayalam’s cinema..! The post ends with Mixed comments are coming under the post.

‘Give us a place to screen our film’; Anish Upasana
